Sometimes.. a video is worth a thousand words. So I will be brief. I will say though. Pipsqueak was my first squirrel. He got me back on this path. He was found as a newborn. His siblings were reunited with mom. Mom did not take him for some reason. Anyhow, I took a picture of him every Sunday morning to watch the changes. It was an wonderful opportunity. I have still shots up to 6 weeks in collage form if a Rehabber would like them for training. After eyes opened he started being handled less. Because while friendly squirrels are the things fairy tales are made of.. it does not work out well in the real world. They get grumpy, demand food, and scare people . We don't want that . We want wild squirrels. Not habituated. I may post those collages at a later date. Interestingly, He turned out to be Silver as a baby and Juvenile. Molted into a normal color. So.. if your aging your baby Eastern Grey squirrel and yours looks "darker" it probably is . Enjoy.
